[b]World War II is often the name for a big war. This was the biggest and most destructive of all time. It destroyed land and farm. It had big effects on humans and the economy. The number of shared forces in this war was more than 100 million soldiers and it killed 70 million human soul between military and civilian.

World war II started in 1939 and ended in 1945. More than seventy countries shared in it. The most famous countries were:

It started when Hitler occupied Czechoslovakia in 1939. Then, he went to Poland through Germany. The Polish fought Hitler but he defeated them. Hitler declared war against Soviet Union and sent his soldiers through Polish borders. So Britain and France supported Poland and declared war against Germany.

Hitler went towards Finland and defeated them. Japan tried to enlarge its empire in northern Asia by attacking China. After less than a month, Germany occupied Poland and then Denmark and Norway.

In may 1949, Hitler attacked France and Britain. After six weeks, French forces were defeated and British forces withdrew. Britain gathered their forces and defeated Hitler. Hitler couldn't occupy British Island.
In 1941, Hitler went towards Russia but he couldn't occupy Moscow. Musilini, the ruler of Italy, attacked Libya, aided by the British in Egypt. Then he occupied Greece.

Japanese enlarge their empire easily. They attacked Pearl Harbour so America attacked Japan and destroyed its air forces.

The British defeated Nazis and Fascists in Africa. In 1943, British and American forces withdrew from Africa. They had weapons and attacked Sagalieh in 1943. In September Italians were forced to withdraw.

Britain, France and America attacked Italy. Germany tried to fight for Italy but they were defeated. In April 1945, they were near Berlin.

In the North, they formed sea and air forces. In 1944, they went to Normandy in France to press Germany. German tried to fight but they were defeated in 1945.

Because Japan was far from Europe, they couldn't attack Japan. After they defeated Germany, they went towards Japan and regained the occupied islands.

In 1945, American Forces went towards Japan and threw two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and destroyed them.
